🎃 Pumpkin Soup 🎃 We have loved creating our own Pumpkin Soup potions in our outdoor provision. This provided great opportunity for communication and discussion as we used our senses to explore by touching, smelling and looking. #PlayPalsAbram #Pumpkin #OutdoorLearning

We have been using our Large motor skills at PlayPals Abram to complete an obstacle course in the hall. The children did some amazing balancing and crawling. We also showed off our super throwing, catching and kicking skills 😃

This week the children have enjoyed making their very own ghosts using cotton wool. They loved exploring the soft texture of the cotton wool and sticking it onto their ghost shapes, creating their own spooky little masterpieces. After colouring and washing my hair, some of the children brushed it through with either the brush or comb then those that wanted to, had a turn at using the hair dryer. We had the heat on warm so that nobody was hurt with the heat being too hot and I showed how we have to point the nozzle down and keep wiggling it around so it doesn't burn the clients head It was like being in a real salon with all the chattering around me as the children were all doing different roles and jobs. 🥰 5 stars on Trip Advisor I say #playpalshindley #learninginaction #blowdry #teamwork

After colouring our clients hair we took her over to the sink and put a towel around her before we began to wash it off. We rolled our sleeves up made sure that the water was nice and warm. We then filled the jugs up and poured them onto the hair to rinse off the colour. We gave a little massage with our fingers to relax our client, again using our fine motor skills. We were very careful and made sure that we didn't pour any water into her eyes and when it was all clean we squeezed the hair inside the towel and soaked up the excess water. This morning Play Pals Hindley have given our children the full experience of being real little hairdressers. We have put a gown on our client and taken out her hair clip using our fine motor skills. We applied some hair dye (conditioner) onto our clients hair and talked about how to apply the colour from root to tip, how long we leave it on for before and what we need to do after. #playpalshindley #learninginaction #salon #colourapplication #reallife

This week at Play Pals Hindley we have had a PROFESSIONAL hairdresser in as part of our CUSP book 'My Hair', who showed us different kind of tools that are used when cutting hair. We all took it in turns to switch the clippers on and feel them vibrating. Then we combed Mrs Kayleigh's hair ready to cut it. We then each cut some of her hair off whilst being very careful holding the scissors by ourselves 💈 #playpalshindley #learninginaction #scissors #clippers #gown

Hair fun at Play Pals! Our little ones have been busy this week exploring lots of hair-themed activities to incorporate our book of the week! From taking on the role of hairdressers in our role play salon to creating wonderful wacky hair designs and trying out different brushes, there has been plenty of creativity and imagination. 💇💇 These playful experiences help develop fine motor skills, encourage new vocabulary and give children opportunities to share, take turns and express their own ideas. 💛 Hello Yellow at Play Pals! 💛 We celebrated World Mental Health Day on Friday by wearing yellow in support of 'Young Minds' Hello Yellow campaign, showing children and young people that they are never alone with their feelings. At Play Pals, we help our little ones feel safe, valued and listened to. We encourage them to talk about their feelings, show kindness to others and ask for help when they need it. Over the weekend our children have been on an autumn walk and collected all things autumnal to bring into nursery.
